I posted in my book list a book titled "Same Kind of Different As Me" by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. The subtitle is "A modern-day slave, an international art dealer and the unlikely woman who bound them together." I really recommend this book. It is based on a true story and was very moving (for me). It is about homelessness and selflessness and making connections with others no matter who they are or situations. One thing I got out of the book is "I woke up" - one quote from a homeless man who was grateful for every day simply because he woke up. Another item I got out of it was to show up. We all need to show up in our lives, take advantage of the opportunities we have whether in our home or communities. If anyone is looking for a book for a discussion group, you may want to offer this one.
